Carpet is sort of textured floor decoration, made up of wool or manmade fiber backed by one upper layer and the other bottom layer. Carpet has remained a sign of flamboyance and sophistication in interior decoration. In olden times the silk carpets were quite prominent in the palaces and were used for decorating and beautifying the pavements and paths in the expansive mausoleums.

This art of making carpets was possibly and probably developed in Central Asia thousands of years ago. The main concept behind the creation of carpet was body warming. The nomads made those carpets through sheep skin and after processing that stuff, they finally had refined fabric embedded warm stuff. In making that thing they realized: the carpets didn’t only keep them warm but after giving some particular textures and colors it became beautiful artifact and decorative element. Since then, the carpets are used as an interior decoration element. Initially carpets were handmade until the looming machines were introduced. Despite that handmade carpets are still considered one of the quality carpets in the world.

After the advent of modern method of carpeting, the carpet industry took a new turn and different methods and techniques were developed for making the quality stuff efficiently. The carpet industry is prominent in the Islamic region and many of the Islamic countries are deemed to be high quality carpet producer. There are various styles of Carpeting such as: Persian, Afghani, Pakistani, Baluchi, Turkmenistan, Caucasian, Indian, Tibetan, Turkish, Chinese, European and so on and on.
